Trieste Neve Tzedek Boutique Suites was named after the historical city of Trieste, Italy in light of its magical ambience and rustic Italian décor. The building is one of the early Tel-Aviv freestanding structures, circa 1929. It was originally constructed from limestone carried inland from the seashore by camels to Ahad Ha’am street, where the first pioneers to leave Jaffa created Tel Aviv. The restoration was done about ten years ago with the goal of honoring the original materials. The limestone walls and metal beamed ceilings are exposed, the floor is painted concrete. Over the years the building has been home to a printing press, a wedding hall, a wine bar, and most recently a boutique hotel. Our family took over the ownership of the suites in 2016.
We moved to Tel Aviv in 2006 from a small artisan's community in upstate New York. We are passionate about enjoying life in the city and also bring our love of country living to the homey hospitality at Trieste. Elie, an Israeli, is a retired leather craftsman of over 40 years. Paula, an American, is a birth educator and doula trainer. We met here in Tel Aviv over 30 years ago. With the help of our two daughters Talya and Shira, we enjoy creating a home away from home for our guests here at Trieste.
Breakfast vouchers can be purchased and redeemed at two popular coffee shops right next door to Trieste. Guests can choose between organic vegan options and more traditional Israeli and International fare.
Guests will be served sweets and cold drinks upon arrival. Complimentary tea, coffee, milk, cocoa and filtered water are available at all times.
